Local elevation to root privileges
Published Sep 15, 2021 · Updated Aug 10, 2026
Local privilege escalation in Microsoft Open Management Infrastructure before 1.6.8-1 allows local users to gain root privileges. Microsoft has not published the affected function or the incorrect operation it performs on attacker-controlled input. A low-privileged account and local execution on a host running an affected OMI-backed agent or extension are required; successful exploitation grants root control of that host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
