Website interruption via transient image-file accumulation
Published Aug 13, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Denial of service in Deferred image processing before 1.0.2 allows remote attackers to exhaust TYPO3 webspace via frontend requests. The extension misuses the TYPO3 FAL API by saving a new copy of each processed file in /var/transient on every frontend request. An unauthenticated remote attacker can send many requests to fill available disk space and interrupt the website.
