CVE-2021-38486Network attack vector

Device takeover via unchecked cloud self-registration

Published Oct 19, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Improper authorization in InHand Networks InRouter615-S 2.3.0.r4724 and 2.3.0.r4870 allows remote authenticated users control. The cloud portal accepts router self-registration without verifying that the registering account is authorized to claim the submitted device. A low-privilege user and user interaction are required; a successful claim grants full router control and enables code execution inside its connected network.
