CVE-2021-38462Network attack vector

Account impersonation via weak password policy

Published Oct 19, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Weak password requirements in InHand Networks InRouter615-S 2.3.0.r4724 and 2.3.0.r4870 allow remote attackers with obtained credentials to impersonate users. The login service accepts passwords without an efficient policy or lockout, enabling repeated guesses and password enumeration across application accounts. An attacker must first obtain valid user credentials; successful abuse permits actions as other users, with no documented direct device outage.
