CVE-2021-38456Network attack vector

Unauthenticated account access via hard-coded default password

Published Oct 12, 2021 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Use of a hard-coded password in Moxa MXview 3.0 through 3.2.2 allows remote attackers to access the default administrator account. The web console provisions the administrator account with the fixed username admin and password moxa instead of requiring unique credentials. Network access to the web console is sufficient, and successful login grants the account's privileges over the managed network environment.
