Asymmetric resource consumption in OpenDDS before 3.18.1 allows remote attackers to interrupt service via crafted network packets. The vendor does not disclose the packet fields or exact code path that amplifies traffic; release notes identify only new authentication-resend backoff. An unauthenticated network path to an OpenDDS-based application is required, and the bounded reported consequence is traffic flooding that interrupts service.
