Continued account access via unrevoked sessions
Published Mar 24, 2023 · Updated Feb 19, 2025
Insufficient session expiration in Rapid7 InsightVM before 6.5.50 allows remote authenticated users to retain access after a password change. The Security Console leaves an existing authenticated session valid when an administrator changes that user's password instead of revoking the session. Exploitation requires a still-active compromised session and an administrator-triggered security edit; access remains limited to that user's permissions.
