Application crash via corrupted DDS data submessage
Published May 5, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025
Buffer overflow in RTI Connext DDS Professional and Connext DDS Secure 4.2x through 6.1.0 allows remote authenticated users to crash applications. The data(p) receive path miscalculates the allocation size for a corrupted submessage, leaving a buffer too small for subsequent processing. Access to a Connext application's DDS network is required, and successful exploitation interrupts that application.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
