CVE-2021-38426

Arbitrary code execution via pre-buffer PDW write

Published Oct 18, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Out-of-bounds write in FATEK Automation WinProladder 3.30 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted PDW file. The PDW project-file parser fails to validate attacker-controlled data and writes before the start of an allocated buffer. Exploitation requires the target to visit a malicious page or open a malicious file, and successful exploitation runs code in the current process.
