CVE-2021-38412

Unauthenticated configuration control via POST requests

Published Sep 17, 2021 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Improper authentication in Digi PortServer TS 16 firmware 82000684 and 82000685 lets remote attackers alter settings through HTTP or HTTPS POST requests. Multiple web-server POST resources accept requests without authentication or tokens, allowing SNMP activation and community-string manipulation. The device must expose its HTTP or HTTPS management interface; the resulting control can extend to command execution or further setting changes.
