CVE-2021-38402

Code execution via unchecked font-string copy

Published Sep 17, 2021 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

Stack-based buffer overflow in Delta Electronics DOPSoft 2 2.00.07 and earlier allows attackers to execute code through a crafted project file. The project-file parser copies attacker-controlled font-string data into a stack buffer without adequately validating the input length. Execution requires a user to open the crafted file, and resulting code runs with the privileges of the DOPSoft process.
