Cross-site scripting via unsanitized IMG alt
Published Nov 22, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site scripting in OX App Suite through 7.10.5 allows remote attackers to execute script via truncated HTML e-mail IMG alt attributes. The middleware that processes inline images places attacker-controlled content into an IMG alt attribute without adequately sanitizing script fragments. Exploitation requires a victim to open the non-truncated representation of a malicious HTML e-mail, enabling script execution in the victim's session context and possible session hijacking or unwanted web actions.
