Local file disclosure via unsafe XML parsing
Published Dec 14, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
XXE in DBeaver before 21.2.3 allows attackers to read local files when a user opens attacker-controlled XML content. XMLUtils.parseDocument creates a default DocumentBuilderFactory and parses the supplied InputSource without first enabling secure XML processing, permitting external entity resolution. Exploitation requires user interaction with crafted XML, and disclosure is limited to data readable by the DBeaver process.
