Stored XSS via unsanitized AJAX page data
Published Oct 14, 2021 · Updated Feb 14, 2025
Stored XSS in ThemeFuse Brizy - Page Builder 2.3.11 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in visitors' sessions. The brizy_update_item AJAX handler accepts JavaScript in the data parameter of a page-update request and stores it for execution when another user views or previews the page. Subscriber-level access is sufficient; code executed in an administrator's session can create an administrative user or alter plugin or theme files.
