Script execution via unescaped PHP_SELF reflection
Published Sep 10, 2021 · Updated May 2, 2025
Reflected XSS in DJ EmailPublish 1.7.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject web scripts through a crafted request URL. The plugin reflects the request-controlled PHP_SELF value from dj-email-publish.php into generated HTML without neutralizing script-capable characters. Exploitation requires a victim to follow an attacker-crafted URL, after which the payload runs in the victim's browser under the WordPress site's origin.
