Database modification via crafted bounced emails
Published Aug 13, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
SQL injection in TYPO3 Newsletter 4.0.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter database data through crafted bounced emails. The vendor identifies bounced-email processing as the vulnerable locus but does not disclose the handler, attacker-controlled field, or faulty SQL construction. The third-party extension must be installed and process the crafted bounce; no TYPO3 account is required, and the vendor bounds impact to database modification.
