Unauthenticated SQL injection via password-reset email
Published Dec 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
SQL injection in WBCE CMS before 1.5.2 allows remote attackers to read or modify database data through the password-reset form. The unauthenticated forgot-password handler inserts the submitted email directly into a users-table SELECT query without escaping; the patch applies escapeString before execution. No account or user interaction is required, and successful injection exposes or changes data available to the application's database account.
