Authenticated command execution via unrestricted file upload
Published Sep 14, 2021 · Updated Oct 21, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in SAP NetWeaver Visual Composer 7.30, 7.31, 7.40, and 7.50 allows remote authenticated users to run OS commands. The EP-VC-RTM runtime accepts a malicious uploaded file without restriction and processes it with the privileges of the Java Server process. Non-administrative access is sufficient to read or modify server information or shut down the server.
