Man-in-the-middle via unvalidated origin certificate

Improper authentication in Apache Traffic Server 8.0.0 through 8.0.8 allows remote attackers to intercept proxied TLS traffic via a man-in-the-middle attack. The outbound origin TLS verification setting accepts certificates without validating the issuing authority or hostname, allowing an attacker positioned between the proxy and origin to impersonate the origin server. Exploitation requires network positioning but no ATS privileges or user interaction; confidentiality and integrity of proxied exchanges can be compromised, with availability impact scored by NVD.
