CVE-2021-38137Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Privilege escalation via missing HTTP API role checks

Published Aug 6, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Incorrect authorization in Corero SecureWatch Managed Services 9.7.2.0020 allows remote authenticated users to access privileged operations. The HTTP API omits effective role enforcement for swa-monitor access to snapshot, package, network, and Splunk settings endpoints and for cns-monitor access to /system/diagnostics. Possession of either low-privilege account is required, and exploitation exposes reserved information and permits operations outside the assigned role.
