Authenticated email disclosure via recipient-field override
Published Feb 4, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Business logic bypass in Micro Focus Voltage SecureMail Mail Relay before 7.3.0.1 allows remote authenticated users to disclose secure email content. The ZDM reply handler accepts attacker-modified to, cc, and bcc fields in a Plain Text POST request instead of enforcing the original message recipient set. A valid ZDM recipient session is required, and exploitation sends protected message content to attacker-selected addresses.
