Arbitrary code execution via unchecked DOC bounds
Published Oct 1, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Corel WordPerfect 2020 20.0.0.200 allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted DOC file. The Word97Import200.dll DOC decoder performs an improper bounds check on malformed file data, permitting memory writes beyond the intended buffer. Exploitation requires a user to open the malicious document; no prior authentication is required, and code runs with that user's application privileges.
