Memory disclosure via unchecked DOC file bounds
Published Oct 1, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Word97Import200.dll in Corel WordPerfect 2020 20.0.0.200 allows attackers to disclose process memory via a crafted DOC file. During DOC decoding, an improper bounds check permits the library to read beyond the intended memory boundary when processing malformed file data. Exploitation requires a user to open the malicious document, and the reported consequence is disclosure of memory within the current user's application context.
