Arbitrary code execution via malformed CPT decoding
Published Oct 1, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in CDRRip.dll in Corel PhotoPaint Standard 2020 22.0.0.474 allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted CPT file. The CPT decoder inadequately bounds-checks malformed file data, permitting out-of-bounds memory writes or frees that can corrupt code or redirect control flow. Exploitation requires a user to open the malicious file, and resulting code runs with the privileges of the current user.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
