CVE-2021-38000Known exploitationPublic exploitNetwork attack vector

External-browser redirection via unchecked intent navigation

Published Nov 23, 2021 · Updated Oct 21, 2025

Open redirect in Google Chrome on Android before 95.0.4638.69 allows remote attackers to open a malicious URL via crafted HTML. ExternalNavigationHandler accepts a server-controlled intent URL reached through an HTTP 302 redirect and transfers navigation to another browser without a chooser or warning. A target must open the attacker's link; the redirect then launches an attacker-selected URL in an external browser, enabling follow-on browser exploitation.
