Unauthorized actions via CSRF token type juggling
Published Sep 15, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
CSRF bypass in Hestia Control Panel 1.4.13 and earlier allows remote attackers to perform unauthorized control-panel actions. Affected web endpoints use PHP loose inequality operators to compare supplied CSRF tokens with session tokens, allowing type juggling to treat nonidentical values as equal. Exploitation requires a request associated with an authenticated session, and the resulting action remains bounded by that session's privileges.
