Account takeover via SSO signature stripping
Published Sep 22, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Improper signature verification in Zoho ManageEngine ADManager Plus 7110 and earlier allows remote attackers to take over accounts through SSO. The SSO handler accepts an authentication assertion after its cryptographic signature is stripped, allowing attacker-controlled identity data to pass validation. SSO must be enabled and reachable; successful exploitation grants access as the identity named in the unsigned assertion.
