CVE-2021-37910Network attack vector

Unauthenticated client disconnection via crafted SAE frames

Published Nov 12, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Improper interaction-frequency control in five ASUS routers before 3.0.0.4.386.45898 allows remote attackers to disconnect clients. WPA2/WPA3-SAE authentication handling accepts crafted SAE frames carrying another user's credentials without adequately limiting interaction frequency. Unauthenticated access to the wireless authentication exchange is sufficient to repeatedly terminate other users' connections, causing a temporary service interruption without reported data access or modification.
