CVE-2021-37839Network attack vector

Metadata disclosure via missing dataset authorization check

Published Jul 6, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Improper authorization in Apache Superset before 1.5.1 allows remote authenticated users to read metadata for unauthorized datasets. The dataset metadata retrieval path returns dataset names, columns, and metrics without enforcing the requesting user’s dataset permission. A valid account is required, and the exposure is limited to metadata rather than dataset row contents.
