Stored script execution via case-sensitive SVG filtering
Published Aug 16, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Shopware Platform 6.4.3.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute script via uploaded SVG media files. The Apache rule in public/.htaccess.dist matches only lowercase .svg names, so uppercase or mixed-case SVG extensions bypass the script-src 'none' CSP header. Media-upload privileges and a victim viewing the stored file are required, and successful exploitation runs attacker-controlled script in the victim's browser.
