Local denial of service via SVDF null dereference
Published Aug 12, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Null pointer dereference in TensorFlow Lite SVDF in TensorFlow before 2.3.4, 2.4.0 through 2.4.2, and 2.5.0 allows local users to cause a service interrupt via a crafted model. The GetVariableInput function can return a null tensor, while SVDF execution passes that value to GetTensorData and dereferences tensor->is_variable without validation. Exploitation requires local access to an application that loads the malicious TensorFlow Lite model; the documented impact is a process crash without stated confidentiality or integrity effects.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=< 2.3.4
- Affected versionversion=>= 2.4.0, < 2.4.3
