CVE-2021-37673Public exploit

Process crash via unchecked empty MapStage key

Published Aug 12, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Improper input validation in Google TensorFlow before 2.3.4, 2.4.0 through 2.4.2, and 2.5.0 allows local users to crash a process. MapStageOp accepts an empty key tensor and continues into staging-area insertion, where a CHECK assertion terminates the hosting process. Exploitation requires local ability to invoke tf.raw_ops.MapStage with crafted tensors and affects only the availability of that process.
