CVE-2021-37653Public exploit

Process crash via zero batch-size division

Published Aug 12, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Divide-by-zero in Google TensorFlow before 2.3.4, 2.4.0 through 2.4.2, and 2.5.0 allows local users to crash the process. ResourceGatherOp computes batch_size from parameter dimensions and divides the flattened index count by zero when crafted empty tensors make that product zero. Exploitation requires the ability to supply a crafted tensor to a local TensorFlow execution context, and the resulting floating-point exception terminates that process.
