Process crash via unchecked dataset record types
Published Aug 12, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Heap buffer overflow in Google TensorFlow before 2.3.4, 2.4.0 through 2.4.2, and 2.5.0 allows local users to crash a process. ToTFRecordOp interprets each dataset element as a tstring and computes its CRC without first confirming that the dataset has one string-typed column. Reachability requires the ability to pass a numeric dataset to either affected local raw operation; the demonstrated consequence is termination of the hosting process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
