CVE-2021-37644Public exploit

Process abort via unchecked negative element count

Published Aug 12, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Denial of service in Google TensorFlow before 2.3.4, 2.4.0 through 2.4.2, and 2.5.0 allows local users to abort the process. TensorListReserve passes an unchecked, user-controlled negative num_elements value to std::vector::resize, which terminates the runtime. The caller must execute a crafted TensorFlow operation locally; the demonstrated consequence is loss of the hosting process, not data disclosure or modification.
