Out-of-bounds access via unchecked clipboard file index
Published Jul 27, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Improper input validation in FreeRDP before 2.4.0 on Windows allows remote attackers to trigger out-of-bounds access via a crafted PDU. wf_cliprdr_server_file_contents_request uses the request-controlled listIndex to index fileDescriptor or file_names without first comparing it with nFiles. A malicious RDP server must send the request to a connected wfreerdp client; published sources establish invalid memory access but no more specific reliable consequence.
