Browser script execution via unencoded 404 path
Published Aug 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Reflected XSS in D. Rogatkin TJWS 1.115 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript in a victim’s browser via a crafted URL. The 404 handler decodes an attacker-controlled request path and inserts it without HTML encoding into the response title and H2 text. Exploitation requires a victim to open the crafted URL; the script runs in the security context of the TJWS-hosted page.
