Service interruption via incorrect protocol bounds check
Published Dec 25, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in MediaTek 1905 daemon 2.0.2 allows physically proximate attackers to interrupt service via IEEE 1905 traffic. The daemon applies an incorrect bounds check while processing protocol input, causing a read beyond the intended buffer. Exploitation requires Wi-Fi EasyMesh R2, needs no prior privileges or user interaction, and is limited to denial of service.
