Authenticated file disclosure via path traversal
Published Jul 25, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Path traversal in NCH IVM Attendant 5.12 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary files through its web interface. The viewfile handler accepts a file query parameter containing parent-directory sequences without restricting the resolved filesystem path. A valid web-control account is required, and readable data is limited by the permissions and execution context of the running IVM process.
