Browser code execution via stored Friendly Name
Published Feb 3, 2023 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored XSS in Teradek Bond II Firmware 7.3.x and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in victim browsers. The /cgi-bin/api.cgi handler stores a crafted Services.Zeroconf.friendlyname value without neutralizing markup, causing an injected SVG onload handler to execute when rendered. Exploitation requires authenticated settings access and a victim to view the stored value, enabling browser tracking and session-cookie theft.
