Remote code execution via malicious profile image upload
Published Oct 26, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Online Student Admission System 1.0 has an unrestricted file-upload flaw that lets low-privileged remote attackers gain remote code execution. The profile-image update accepts a malicious PHP file as an image and stores it where the web server can execute it. Exploitation requires a valid low-privilege account and access to the profile update function; successful uploads execute with the web server's privileges.
