Local command execution via traversal-based script creation
Published Aug 10, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Path traversal in CTparental before 4.45.07 allows local users with admin-panel access to create executable files and run commands. bl_categories_help.php accepts traversal sequences in a file-creation path, allowing script content to be written outside the intended directory and executed. The attack requires local low-privileged access and grants arbitrary command execution on the affected host.
