Filtering bypass via unvalidated administrator POST
Published Aug 10, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in CTparental before 4.45.03 allows remote attackers to disable filtering through an induced administrator request. The gctoff.php form submits filtering-group changes without verifying that the POST originated from the authenticated admin panel. Exploitation requires an administrator to open attacker-controlled content; a demonstrated XSS chain can then add users to the privileged group and disable filtering.
