Local privilege escalation in Nagios XI before 5.8.5 allows local users to gain root privileges through a crafted directory name. The privileged getprofile.sh script accepts its directory-name argument without validation, enabling path manipulation during profile generation. Low-privileged host access or code execution as the web-server user is required, after which commands execute as root.
