Authenticated code execution via AutoDiscovery path traversal

Path traversal in the AutoDiscovery component of Nagios XI before 5.8.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute code as www-data. An AutoDiscovery job accepts traversal sequences in its id field and writes the custom_ports value into a cron file at the attacker-selected path. Administrative access is required; placing the file in a writable web directory creates a PHP web shell with the Nagios web server's privileges.
