Remote administrative control via hidden backdoor account
Published Apr 11, 2022 · Updated Jul 5, 2026
Access control failure in KevinLAB 4ST L-BEMS 1.0.0 allows remote attackers to obtain full administrative control through a backdoor account. The application embeds an undocumented account with admin_pk=1 privileges, hides it from the administrative user list, and prevents credential changes through normal RMI operations. Attackers with the preset credentials can authenticate remotely and use every exposed BEMS function, including energy and facility controls.
