CVE-2021-37232Public exploit

Process crash via undersized track-details buffer

Published Aug 4, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Stack-buffer overflow in AtomicParsley before 20210715.151551.e7ad03a allows context-dependent attackers to crash it via a crafted MP4 file. APar_ExtractDetails allocates a five-byte uint32_buffer, but APar_read64 passes it to fread for an eight-byte write while parsing track details. Processing the crafted file with track-detail extraction enabled is required; public evidence demonstrates an AddressSanitizer abort, not code execution.
