CVE-2021-37202

Code execution via IFC parser use-after-free

Published Sep 14, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Use-after-free in the IFC adapters in Siemens NX before 1984 and Solid Edge before SE2021MP8 allows attackers to execute code via an IFC file. While parsing a user-supplied IFC file, the adapter reuses freed memory, enabling control of execution in the current application process. A user must open the crafted file, and successful exploitation runs code with that user's process privileges.
