Network interruption via unchecked OSPF LS Updates

Denial of service in Siemens SCALANCE XM-400 and XR-500 devices before 6.5 allows remote attackers to interrupt network traffic. The OSPF implementation processes LS Update messages without verifying their checksum and length fields, allowing malformed packets to disrupt routing. No authentication or user interaction is required, but OSPF must be enabled; Siemens states that OSPF is disabled by default.
