Code execution via uninitialized OBJ parser pointer
Published Aug 10, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Out-of-bounds pointer access in Siemens Solid Edge SE2021 before SE2021MP7 allows attackers to execute code via a crafted OBJ file. The OBJ parsing path in PSKERNEL.dll accesses a pointer before initializing it, producing an out-of-bounds memory access. Exploitation requires the target to visit a malicious page or open a malicious file and runs attacker code with the current process's privileges.
